A note on death

When I decided to become a Doula, I was excited to hold space for births, births of children, births of mothers and births of families, and most days I get to see really beautiful births but on days like yesterday birth is not the only thing I have to hold space for, yesterday was about death and trying to find the words to explain to a 15 year old mother why her babies heart had stopped. Days like yesterday tear my heart apart, days like yesterday remind me we are just a constant arising and falling away.
